We Need to Talk About Transdermal Patches & Why Everyone Should Be Using Them

Maybe you’ve heard of transdermal patches—or maybe you haven’t. Either way, you probably have a lot of questions like, “Where do I buy patches?” and “Do vitamin patches actually work?” And the biggest query of all: “Are vitamin patches worth buying?”

Good news, potential patchers: You’re not the only ones who are curious about what OnMi has to offer. And, considering this is a relatively new product, you’re right to be asking questions. Everyone should do their due diligence when it comes to your health and wellness, and we want you to know, we’ve got nothing hiding up our sleeves (except, well, patches of course)!

At OnMi, we don’t just tell you what’s in our patches — we tell you why we put it there. Science-backed ingredients? Check. Hypoallergenic and latex-free? Check. Free from harmful additives? Check. Easy to use for those who can’t (or prefer not to) swallow vitamin pills? Check. A super convenient, fun, and cool way to support your health and wellness? Check, check, and check!

It’s safe to say our patches check all the boxes, but we get it: You need to know more. The studies, the science, the pricing, the reviews — we’re covering it all and answering those important questions about transdermal patches.

So stick around, we’re just getting started.

Up first: Do these things actually work?

We get it: If you told your ancestors that one day you’d be able to get your vitamins from a sticker, they’d have questions, too. But who would have thought that we’d be walking around with tiny computers in our pockets? Or be able to have phone conversations via our watches? And don’t even get us started on self-driving cars and Jeff Bezos’s joyride to outer space on his company-owned rocket ship. If these things can exist in our reality, it’s safe to say that patches can, too.

Technology has made transdermal patches possible, but the truth is that this particular tech is nothing new. In fact, they’ve been around since the 1970s, when the first transdermal patch hit the market as a treatment for motion sickness. Since then, additional applications for this clever invention were soon uncovered, including for — you guessed it — the delivery of vitamins!

So, how exactly does it work? It all starts with the largest organ in the body: your skin. This integral part of our physical selves is comprised of an impressive 19 million skin cells, as well as 650 sweat glands, 20 blood vessels, and 1,000 nerve endings. It regulates body temperature, protects our internal organs, and even regenerates itself every 28 days. For all of its impressive qualities, however, there’s one thing that sticks out to us: Skin is porous, meaning that it can absorb things through its surface.

Now, the patches. Our design features four layers that work together to house vitamins and other nutrients that can be absorbed directly through your perfectly porous skin. The first layer is the clear liner. This is the sticky part that allows the vitamins to penetrate the skin while adhering to your body for up to 12 hours. The next layer is the ingredient reservoir, which contains vitamins and other ingredients. The third layer was designed to help control the release of ingredients from the reservoir with 12-hour extended-release technology. The final layer is a clear, protective backing that protects the patch and prevents evaporation.

There are many benefits to tapping this technology in place of oral alternatives and even hypodermic injections. This scientific manuscript notes that transdermal delivery can prevent the liver from prematurely metabolizing certain ingredients — a common occurrence with oral methods. What’s more, patches are safer, less painful, and generate less medical waste than injections or IVs. Patches are also easy to apply, can be used for longer periods of time, and are generally inexpensive when compared to these other methods, which brings us to our next topic:

Are patches worth the money?

If you buy a multivitamin, drink coffee, take a sleep aid, use CBD, drink wine to unwind, or all of the above, the simple answer is yes — OnMi patches are worth the money. They can do what all of these things do for a fraction of the cost. Not to mention, you can’t really put a price on health — wellness is always worth the investment in our book.

But, we know what you want to know, so let’s talk numbers.

OnMi patches can be purchased in packs of four, 12, or 32. The price varies by patch, but in general, the more you buy, the more you save. What’s more, we’re currently offering free shipping on orders of $29 or more!

That brings us to the ultimate query...

Should you buy OnMi transdermal patches?

Listen, we can sit here for DAYS and explain why OnMi is the best solution for your health and wellness needs. But we know, we know — we’re a little biased, so you can’t just take our word for it. If you want social proof, here’s what a few of our customers are saying:

“I was skeptical that this patch would really stay on all day without peeling at the edges and catching on my clothes. Safe to say it's really dang sticky! Just some advice though, take it off in the shower. It'll be a whooole lot easier.” – Michelle L.

“Been curious about hemp but wasn’t sure if it would do anything for me. I wore the hemp patch overnight and woke up feeling relaxed. Even the sleep app on my phone said my sleep quality was higher than normal!” – Gary S.

Influencers are also getting in on the OnMi action, and the general consensus? Patches are perfect for those who are on the go and always busy; who need a fast and convenient way to prioritize their health and wellness. Here are a few of our favorites (and yes, we’re totally fangirling over here).

At the end of the day, we can’t tell you what to do. But we can tell you everything you need to know in order to make informed decisions about your health and wellness. Whether that means being fully transparent about our ingredients, revealing how our patch technology works, or sharing the experiences of others, you can always count OnMi to be open and honest about our products and their formulations.
